First, because drones allowing us to see over buildings is the obvious next step for maps. Drone views would enable us to navigate by landmarks and unlock a richer view of our cities for digital tourism. Street View was groundbreaking, and Birds-eye & Fly-over Views would change the game again.

Second, because you can and it would be so cool. Imagine how amazing it would be to have a 360 degree birds-eye view at every intersection and a grid of fly-overs all across our cities. Digital tourism would never be the same.

In conclusion, now that drone technology is readily available these two features seem inevitable. Build it yourself now or pay millions for the startup that beats you to the punch later. You might as well strike now while the iron is hot.
